Ardagh Glass North America has been awarded six Energy Star plant certifications by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), continuing its run as the only glass manufacturer in the US to be officially recognised by the body for its superior energy performance.
The six Ardagh Group plants, located in New Jersey, Indiana (2), California, Massachusetts, and Oklahoma, demonstrated best-in-class energy performance and, on average, perform within the top 25% nationwide for energy efficiency when compared to similar plants across the country.
Ardagh continues to be the only glass manufacturer in the US to be officially recognised by the body for its superior energy performance.
Ardagh Group’s six recognised facilities have improved energy performance by upgrading and optimising furnaces, utilising recycled glass, installing energy-efficient lighting fixtures and repairing air compressor leaks, among several other energy-saving initiatives.

The EPA introduced Energy Star in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency.
Today, the Energy Star label can be found on more than 60 different products, as well as new homes and commercial and industrial buildings that meet strict energy efficiency specifications set by the EPA.
Since 1999, more than 24,000 commercial buildings and industrial plants have earned the EPA’s Energy Star for superior energy performance, with nine Ardagh Glass facilities receiving 22 certifications since 2010.
