Encirc Managing Director Adrian Curry has been named British Glass President.

Mr Curry succeeds Davia Walmsley, Creative Director of Daedalion Glass Studios, who will serve as vice president to provide continuity.

Members unanimously voted for Mr Curry during the recent British Glass AGM.

British Glass said that with his strong and visible commitment to the glass industry, Mr Curry will be a tremendous emissary and steadying influence for the world of glass manufacturing in time of global change.

British Glass Chief Executive Dave Dalton used his address at the AGM to urge members to be more vocal than ever in shaping the trade association’s agenda for the current economic and political uncertainty.

“With global politics and trade set to change beyond recognition, we must look for the opportunities - not attempt to beat back the inevitable.

“The pace of change is faster than ever, and the key decision makers in our member companies must steer us, as their representative, to the priorities and common ground that define our brief to act for them.

“I call on all our members to carve out the time to do that so British Glass can take those messages to government and win the necessary support to ensure future prosperity.”

Chair of the Board Allen Norris and British Glass Director Nick Kirk reported on the accounts and activity – revealing an organisation that is increasingly financially secure and influential.
