Approximately 427 people attended this year’s Glass Problems conference, which has concluded in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
The three and half day 76th Conference on Glass Problems included technical papers from glass manufacturers and suppliers who discussed the latest technology and solutions.
The international mix of delegates saw executies from Iran, Kuwait, India and Japan, along with a large number attending from Europe, joining a majority from the USA and Americas.
The event included a day-long Forming Technology in Glass Manufacturing symposium which examined the critical processes and latest technologies.
The event also included a two-day technical conference featuring sessions on Energy and Glass melting, Batching, and Environmental.
The conference was organised by the Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC) in partnership with Alfred University, both based in the United States.
The event also included an exhibition with 61 prominent suppliers from Europe, the Americas and China taking a booth. These included the likes of Special Shapes Refractory Company, Specialty Rondot, Sorg, Tiama Americas, FIC UK and Fives Stein.
The technical conference featured 20 papers from the likes of Air Products, Glass Service Inc, Bucher Emhart Glass and Nalco. The Forming symposium included 13 papers from companies including Owens-Illinoi (O-I) and World Kitchen, and also featured an end of day panel discussion.
Glass International attended the event and an extended article reviewing the conference will appear in a forthcoming issue of the magazine.
The 77th Conference on Glass Problems will take place November 7th to 10th, 2016 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, in Columbus, OH, USA.
