Glass International February 2015

Welcome to the February issue of Glass International - the magazine that provides the most editorial coverage of the glass manufacturing industry.

This month we kick off with a world exclusive from O-I, which has recently invested €14 million in a new furnace at its Labégude site, France. Sally Roberts travelled to the plant for its inauguration, and spoke with Jean-Pierre François, Director of Operations for France-Spain. Next, we have a company profile on Grupo Vical, a Central American glass manufacturer that exports its products to 27 countries and prides itself on its environmentally friendly technology.

Following the sale of Encirc to Vidrala, our February issue continues with a UK supplement that contains an overview of the thriving UK glass market and the recent investments made, and an interview with the new President of British Glass, Davia Walmsley. This month our technical focus is on refractories, with features from P. Carlo Ratto, Bucher Emhart, Vesuvius, and the Special Shapes Refractory Company.

This is accompanied by our regular columns from John Parker and British Glass, as well as the round-up of the latest industry news.
