Glass International December 2014

Welcome to December’s bonus issue of Glass International, available in digital format only.

This issue contains an exclusive interview with France’s prestigious Pochet du Courval, as well as a look back at our interview with Ardagh CEO Niall Wall.

We travelled to France’s historic glassmaking region of the Bresle Valley to meet with Antoine Planque, Managing Director of Sales and Marketing, and Christian Durand, Managing Director of Operations, of Pochet du Courval, to find out about the company, its current innovations, and the French market.

Pochet is pushing the boundaries when it comes to the design and manufacture techniques used for its glass bottles, and we share its latest developments here.

We have also revisited our interview with Ardagh CEO Niall Wall, where he candidly discusses Ardagh’s business model and his thoughts on the future of glass packaging.

This issue also includes a preview of next year’s Glassman Europe show, which will return to Lyon in May 2015. The third largest glass container producer in Europe, France has a thriving wine, perfume, and cosmetics industry. The successful Glassman conference will run alongside the show, with the theme of ‘Energy efficiency and environmental solutions in the glass industry’.

Our technical features include articles on glass melting and quality control, and as always we bring you the latest industry news as well as an update on the technology partnership agreed between Siemens and British Glass.

Merry Christmas, and a happy new year!
