May 2016

Welcome to the May 2016 issue of Glass International which contains an exclusive interview with Italian glassmaker Vetreria Etrusca.

The manufacturer has recently installed a new furnace that will add 75% capacity to its current production rates. Andrea Bartolozzi met with Assistant Editor Sally Love at the company's headquarters in Montelupo.

Our feature this month is Inspection and we focus on the activities on two glassmakers who have formed relationships with prominent inspection machine manufacturers.

The first is Germany's Wiegand-Glas, which has recently installed Tiama machinery and the second is South Korea's Kumbi Corp, which has commissioned Iris Inspection Machines equipment.

Other articles have been supplied by Bucher Emhart Glass, Iris Inspection Machines, Heye International, Lumasense and Ametek.

We also speak to UAS Messtechnik Managing Director Thomas Donaubauer about the German company's global activities. Many of you were at the recent China Glass exhibition and a review of the event is provided.

All this, plus the usual round up of industry news and views from our regular columnists.
