AGC Glass Brazil has announced that its industrial glass complex in Guaratinguetá, São Paulo State, has started production.

The plant is now ready for the mass production of architectural glass, automotive glass and mirrors.

It is expected that the plant will produce approximately 220,000 tons of float glass per year, and process automotive glass for 500,000 vehicles. It will create 500 jobs by 2016.

Construction of the plant began in November 2011 with an investment of approximately 40 billion Japanese yen (€300m).
