AGI Greenpac submits highest bid to acquire Indian glass packager HNG

AGI Greenpac was the highest bidder for Indian container glass manufacturer Hindusthan National Glass (HNG) during a recent auction of the company.

It offered approximately INRs 2,100 crore at Wednesday’s auction.

Two other companies also made a bid for the glass Indian glass packager - Nirma Chemicals and South Africa-based Madhvani Group. Nirma Chemicals withdrew from the process in the second round of bids.

Kolkata-based HNG, owned by Mukul Somany is currently in insolvency proceedings.

AGI Greenpac was previously known as HSIL and is owned by Rajendra Somany.
