French tableware producer Arc International has signed a contract with Keonys for the deployment of its ENOVIA collaborative platform for all its international locations.

Keonys is a European distributor and integrator of Dassault Systemes' Product Lifecycle Management solutions (PLM).

Since the foundation of Arc’s Arques, France glassworks in 1825, its aim has been to be the recognised leader in tableware in added-value markets. It said this ambition had been realised by adopting new industrial orientations combined with new generation technological choices to win new market share.

“Our policy of innovation in the glass-making field is based on studies and our production of high-technology products and materials to satisfy the latest trends in our markets worldwide,” stated Bruno Etting, Director Product Development and Research programmes Group at Arc International.

“We were looking for a solution to optimise the control of our production and reduce the time taken to get our products on the market.”

Managing this project on an international scale took place in two stages and took nearly a year.

“This was a major challenge, since we had to re-think all Arc International's industrial processes and replace the two existing information systems (SmarTeam for managing product data and a company tool for managing bills of materials) with a single, unified collaborative platform covering all company sites,” said Jacques Bacry, CEO of Keonys.

Arc International Group has production and sales sites in the USA, Asia, Russia and the Middle East. This model requires perfect synergy between everyone involved in the project.

“Collaboration in multi-site mode is fundamental for us. Our subsidiaries will therefore be more agile, creative and autonomous with regard to their customers,” added Mr Etting.
