Ardagh has received recognition for its involvement with one of the most successful packaging launches over the past 12 months.
It won taken silver in the annual World Packaging Organisation (WPO) Marketing Awards for Absolut Unique. This is an award nominated independently by the judging panel in recognition of true marketing excellence.
The bottle made history as the world’s first limited edition spirit bottle, where every single bottle is unique, but earned praise from marketing professionals for the concept and execution and subsequent success.
The award was presented to Eric Näf , Director, Packaging Development, The Absolut Company, and Peter Gunnarsson, Sales Manager, Glass, Nordic, Ardagh Group, in a ceremony at the Interpack exhibition in Germany to commemorate the 2013 crop of Worldstar winners.
Absolut Unique comprises four million individually decorated bottles with different colour combinations of coating and pattern and its own label.
Mr Gunnarsson said: “This award not only recognises our achievement as the best of the best in global terms, but shows our commitment towards helping our customers to achieve the most challenging marketing goals.”
