UK glass manufacturer, Beatson Clark, has secured up to £1.7 million from the Regional Growth Fund.

The company hopes to use the funds to install a larger and more efficient bottle forming machine and a bulk palletiser for packing glass products at its Rotherham plant.

This is part of a planned £12 million investment which will include a larger capacity furnace.

“This funding is fantastic news for Beatson Clark and for the local economy as it will enable us to strengthen the service we provide to the pharmaceutical sector,” said Lynn Sidebottom, Sales and Marketing Director at Beatson Clark.

“It will facilitate an expansion of our activities in the growing brewery sector and help to secure jobs for the future.”

Beatson Clark expects the investment programme to be complete by March 2015.

A total of £50m has been allocated to businesses and organisations in Yorkshire from the fourth round of the flagship Regional Growth Fund (RGF).
