Italy’s Bruni Glass is to be acquired by Chicago-based Berlin Packaging.
Berlin Packaging is looking to extend its footprint in the European market, and its current portfolio of products includes plastic packaging and closures.
Bruni Glass is a container glass manufacturer that caters to the food, wine, and spirits markets.
It has been operating for over 40 years, with its headquarters near Milan.
Berlin Packaging said that the deal will increase its sales this year to more than US$1.2 billion through the combined company.
Bruni will add more than $150 million to that total.
"Combining Berlin and Bruni is an important building block in our quest to be the strongest, broadest, and most customer-centric packaging supplier in the market," said Andrew Berlin, chairman and CEO of Berlin Packaging, in a statement.
