Caspian Flat Glass (CFG) has commenced furnace warm up at its Dagestan, Russia site.

The company lit the furnace at the Makhachkala, Daghestan, site on October 30 and expects its first glass on November 28.

The plant has ability to manufacture standard product range along with online low-e. The supplier of the coating plant is Stewart Engineers USA and the two have plans for a long- terms working partnership.

CFG is targeting low-e production mid next year.

The furnace warm-up day included speeches by its Executive Director and Board of Directors, who thanked all involved in the project and the teamwork and professionalism shown by all.

The company said: “Today is the beginning of a new Industry in Makhachkala and a new producer in the glass market.

“The Board of Directors hhinted at new products for 2014 and with the technological support of a market leader in coating technology CFG next year will be a major player in coated products.”
