Corning Incorporated has announced that its President and Chief Operating Officer, Peter Volanakis, will retire on or before 31st December 2010, following a 28-year career with the company.
In a statement thanking Mr Volanakis for his leadership and service, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Wendell Weeks said his colleague “led the growth of the LCD glass business” and “played a key role in revitalising Corning’s innovation and growth initiatives”.
Mr Volanakis added: “Corning is a truly unique company with outstanding people, in a special community. I may be retiring from the company but I will always be a member of the Corning family.”
