Specialty glassmaker Corning has reportedly resumed production at its Wilmington plant in Delaware, USA after it was disrupted by a fire in early April.
The blaze, which is thought to be the result of a malfunction with a piece of glassmaking equipment, was brought under control more than an hour after it started. Plant Manager Karl Ehemann confirmed that all employees at the factory were evacuated and no one was injured.
“Full normal operations will resume once the repair and clean-up in that part of the plant is complete, which we think will happen quickly,” another Corning representative said at the time of the incident.
The company declined to discuss how much production was lost.
