Parkinson-Spencer Refractories recently announced the sudden and unexpected death of its representative in Moscow, Mrs Irina Ushchekina.
Irina had run the shared Moscow office since 2004 and had established it as a well known name in the Russian Glass Industry for herself and the companies she represented. She also represented Imaca and Sheppee International, and previously represented Pennine Industrial Equipment Ltd and Rosario Productie.
She worked in the office alone and travelled long distances to visit clients in the harsh Russian winter months. She will always be remembered for her tenacity, energy and initiative.
Her great passion was Arabic dancing and she ran classes for students of the subject and travelled overseas with fellow dancers to dance there and improve her technique.
At the age of only 52 Irina’s death is both tragic and unexpected and she will be sadly missed by the many friends and acquaintances she has made in the glass industry and beyond.
