It has been announced that Dave Ulmer, Vice President, Sales and Technical Services at EW Bowman, has left the annealing and decorating lehr supplier having accepted the position of Diversified Market Director at US Silica.
In a company statement, Mr Ulmer said: ‘I have enjoyed my 25 years at EW Bowman. As a minority shareholder, I will remain interested in projects and developments in the hollow glass industry. Being part of US Silica will allow me to have contact with the glass industry, so you will see me around industry symposiums and exhibitions’.
US Silica, based in Maryland, USA, is said to be the second largest producer of silica sand in North America. Mr Ulmer’s duties will include expanding the company’s reach in building products, fillers/extenders, filtration, recreation and Florisil sectors, as well as developing emerging markets and distribution channels.
