UK glass plant engineering group Dismatec has been awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade 2014.

The Sheffield-based company received the award for its significant growth in international trade in the past three years.

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is designed to recognise and encourage the achievements by businesses in the UK, in the fields of Innovation, International Trade and Sustainable Development

Managing Director Michael Horsfield said he was extremely proud of the company and said it was thanks to his staff’s hard work that they had won the award.

“It’s a tremendous accolade for us and is reward for the hard work and professionalism of the team. We are extremely customer focused and staff have the correct attitude towards customers. The award is a reflection of that.

“We have had to overcome strong negotiation parameters and adapt to understanding different cultures in the parts of the world where we are operating to win contracts.

"For us to win the UK’s most prestigious business accolade in the present world economic climate and working in a highly competitive market competing against much larger organisations than ours is a mammoth achievement and gives us inspiration for the future."

The company offers furnace installations, furnace rebuilds, consultancy and hot repairs and maintenance among its services.

It is due to receive the award at an event in Buckingham Palace, London in the summer.
