Batch and cullet handling provider EME has started a project with Turkish glass manufacturer Baştürk Cam.
The project involves basic and detailed engineering including a batch transport system to a new 560tpd Furnace B.
EME is also supplying a cullet return system, including two single fork link chain scrapers.
EME will also deliver a complete electric control system with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) technology, as well as supplying mechanical and electrical supervision services.
Dr. Sebastian Woltz, Sales Director at EME, said: “We are delighted to have started this project, particularly as the work follows our delivery and commissioning of the batch plant and cullet return system for Furnace A at Baştürk Cam’s Malatya factory in Turkiye in 2017.
"Baştürk Cam was so pleased with that work, the order for Furnace B was actually placed in 2021 but the project had to be delayed because of the tragic earthquake in 2023.
"Starting production of the second furnace now is a real boost for everyone involved.
“EME is always ready to take on demanding projects around the world. We are very confident in our ability to exceed Baştürk Cam’s expectations.”
