EME’s detailed engineering process for Arglass’ Greenfield plant in Georgia, USA has reached its final stages.
The facility in Valdosta, Georgia will have a production capacity over 125,000 tonnes per year.
The site work on the plant had already begun and the first shipments of the EME equipment are scheduled for end of Q1 2020.
The furnace, supplied by EME’s sister company Sorg is set to start up at the end of 2020 with full operation by Q1 2021.
Arglass had emphasised the importance that the new batch plant and cullet return system had to be designed with the best available technology.
It also wanted a layout to provide high quality, highly flexible and efficient production.
The company’s first glass manufacturing facility plant is said to cost $123 million and will employ 150 people.
