Bucher Emhart Glass has cancelled its participation in this year's glasstec event.

The Swiss-based company said that with the uncertain development of the Corona crisis and uncertainty in international travels it was for the best of the customers and employees not to be present at the Dusseldorf trade show in October.

It said this will not hold it back from brining new innovations to the market.

“It was quite a disappointing decision for us as glasstec is an important portal and the most important exhibition allowing us to meet and greet our customers and partners and to exchange views and opinions,” said Werner Gessner, VP Sales and Marketing.

“We believe though, that it is our duty to respect the health and safety of our customers and employees in these difficult times and think of other ways to keep connected with the glass industry to convey news, trends and solutions and to strengthen our partnerships.

"We are very much looking forward to the glasstec 2022.”

Bucher Emhart Glass has extended its FlexIS Remote Service free of charge until June 30, 2020 and will continue to do so until year end 2020.

It has also increased its offering for phone and remote support for its forming and inspection equipment in order to support operations remotely.

Martin Jetter, President at Bucher Emhart Glass, said: “With the continuous insecurities around the pandemic situation Emhart strongly believes in supporting our customers on a daily basis and with any available method.

“These challenging times are also an opportunity to explore new ways of collaborating with our customers and partners while we look forward to being able to personally be available at glass plants.

"In the meantime we wish you all the best and stay healthy. The entire team is looking forward to the day we can meet in person again.”
