The Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC)’s Gizaz glass plant in Qatar is now operating at full capacity.
The Gizaz plant successfully completed its start-up phase and is now fully operational.
Falorni Tech, the EPC contractor for the project, reported that the furnace quickly reached its maximum capacity, despite low cullet availability.
It continued that the produced glass met and exceeded the expected quality from the beginning.
Over the past two months, the plant's three production lines have reached full capacity.
Two production lines are operating in triple gob (one of them recently switched to NNPB process) and one in double gob.
Average pack to melt efficiency is beyond 85%, which is a significant value for a new plant.
Falorni Tech said it had been a “period of intense work” for its team, as well as for the plant’s staff and suppliers.
