Sisecam’s glass packaging output increased by 13% thanks to the opening of a fifth furnace at its Eskişehir, Turkiye facility.
It said its glass packaging output increased to 625ktonnes in the second quarter of the year, an increase of 13% compared to the same quarter the year before.
The Eskişehir furnace became operational at the end of quarter 1 this year. The Turkish-headquartered manufacturer said capacity additions at its Georgia facility also boosted output.
In its latest financial report, it said the share of Turkey-based facilities in total production was at 56%, while 41% was produced in Russia and the remaining balance in Georgia.

Its Turkey-based facilities’ consolidated sales volume increased by 8% YoY with an 11% growth in domestic operations, driven by the strong performance of the non-alcoholic beverages, particularly led by the soft drinks sector.
Sales to the beer sector recorded an overperformance given the rise in beer consumption thanks to higher domestic tourism.
Sales to the beer industry were further strengthened with small to mid-size new entries to the beer market and a continued aluminium can shortage in the sector.
