The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) recently cited Brazil as the place to watch in 2014.
61 small and middle-sized companies working in the German glass machinery and glass engineering industry are members of the VDMA, which recently held its annual meeting.
With regards to the special and hollow glass industry, the mood of the meeting was that demand is currently good; however, the hollow glass industry is the only one expecting new investments in 2014.
With respect to 2014, the German companies on the whole expect Europe to be their most important market, with impetus coming particularly from East Europe.
Asia will be nearly the same, particularly China. Taking a worldwide perspective, the industry sees an increasing business potential in Brazil.
This ties in with the Glassman South America show, which caters for the container and hollow glass industries, and will be taking place on the 12th and 13th March in São Paulo, Brazil.
