A conference focused on the past and future of glass will take pace at a historical French glassworks.
The Verre en Perspective conference will include talks from AGC Europe and Saint-Gobain from flat glass, as well as Verallia and FEVE from the glass packaging sector.
It will take place at the Trélon glass site, which is nestled in the Avesnois region in the north of France and which this year celebrates 200 years since the start of its glass production.
The glassworks closed in 1977 but was reborn in 1981 as a glass museum within the Ecomusée de l’Avesnois.
The conference will take place on November 21 and the 22 and bring together experts and craftsmen who are passionate about the history and the future of glass.
It offers an opportunity to explore the many facets of glass in the field of architecture and in the packaging sector.
This meeting aims to create a dialogue platform between historians, industrials, anthropologists and artists and will encourage knowledge sharing and emergence of innovative projects.
This conference is not limited to a reflection on the past. It is part of a dynamic of research and knowledge sharing that enhances the value of our glass heritage and paves the way to future possibilities regarding a sustainable and innovative glass.
By exploring the challenges and opportunities waiting for this material, we can consider a future where glass will continue to play an essential role in architecture, packaging and beyond.
The conference will be in French and is free to attend. It takes place at 12 rue Clavon-Collignon, 59132, Trelon, France.
