Glass manufacturers, technology suppliers and an association are among those who will speak at a forthcoming conference.

The Glassman Europe conference in Istanbul, Turkey will focus on the glass manufacturing process, trends in production and ways to make the glassmaking process more efficient.

Speakers include Turkish glass manufacturers Sisecam, GCA, Park Cam and Basturk Cam.

GCA General Manager, Dr Abdullah Gayret, will also provide a speech on behalf of the European Glass Container Federation (FEVE) titled The Future of Packaging: Glass- fit for the future.

The two-day conference is free to attend and takes place within the Rumeli Upper Halls at the ICEC venue, Istanbul, Turkey on February 8 and 9.

Alongside on day one this will be speakers including Hasan Copur of Chemical Market Analytics, who will provide an overview of the soda ash industry, Thomas Sauer of Exxergy discussing a novel method to improve the mechanical strength of glass, and Steve Whettingsteel of Krysteline Technologies who will discuss Developing a Sustainable Glass Recycling System.

The focus on day two will be all things furnaces, with speakers including FIC UK, CelSian, BDF Industries and Fives.
