GlassTrend is to host a webinar focused on the upcoming International Year of Glass 2022 on 24 June at 14:00 CET.
The webinar is entitled: “International year of glass 2022: A challenge and an opportunity for the glass world” and the keynote presentation will be provided by Alicia Durán, President of the International Commission on Glass (ICG).
Promoted by the ICG, Community of Glass Associations and ICOM-Glass, the Spanish mission at the UN led the application for an International Year of Glass in 2022.
Over 1500 endorsements from 79 countries and every continent have been forthcoming to celebrate the Year of Glass.
The resolution was approved by the General Assembly of the UN with 19 countries acting as co-sponsors.
A programme of glass-related events in science, technology, art and history has also been confirmed.
It will include hundreds of activities at international and national levels in education and in research and development, together with exhibitions created by museums, industry, academia and glass associations.
