UK hot end ware handling supplier, D A Oldfield, has celebrated its 20th anniversary.

The company supplies hot end ware handling equipment to the worldwide glass bottle making industry.

Founded in 1994 and managed by ‘glass men’, Don has 50 years and Garry 30 years work experience with IS machine production lines synchronisation and ware handling.

Experience through the drawing office, machine shops, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning in glassworks, as well as R&D within the industry has made them specialists within this field.

The York, UK-based company is in the business of reconditioning and the manufacturing of new and used stackers, transfers, cross conveyors and sub-assemblies.

Over the last 20 years it has taken new materials and applied them to the glass industry, while advancing technologies and delivering affordable products.

Its fully flexible 700 variable transfer unit stays on line and job changes quickly from one bottle size to another. Its GDO 1000 cross conveyor is lubrication free and everything including the whole conveyor itself is quick change.

During the past five years it has developed and trialled a high temperature glass contact material made from stainless steel felt; a breakthrough for the industry.

According to the company, it is proven to eliminate bottle contact marks particularly from lightweight containers.
