The International Commission on Glass (ICG) has created an Associated Membership Companies Committee (AMCC) and made two appointments.
Michel Gaubil, Director Refractory Solutions Engineering at Sefpro, has been elected as President of the AMCC.
Steve Whettingsteel, CEO of Krysteline Technologies, has been elected as Vice President.
The ICG said: “We’re excited about this new committee and its potential to work closely with Technical Committees to drive positive advancements in the industry."
On his appointment, Mr Whettingsteel said: "Michel and I are delighted to lead the newly established AMCC ICG 2030 programme of support for the wider glass based global business network.
"We have much to do and with the guidance of past Presidents Reinhard Conradt and Alicia Durán, new ICG president Hiroyuki Inoue, and of course the significant guidance of new Vice President, Erik Muijsenberg.
"We are sure to create an opportunity to incorporate all aspects of the glass industry into ICG, increasing access to global innovation, technology and manufacturing resources becoming a common voice which understands the complexities of the industry, one sufficiently knowledgeable and qualified to support Government and Industrial strategies and environmental goals.
"We have many ideas as to how AMCC may evolve aiming for the first draft to be available for ICG 2025 in Kolkata, India in January.
"Thank you also to Gabriele and Kun from ICG for your excellent work in supporting Burcu and the team at Sisecam who have shown huge commitment to this process of establishing ICG 2030 and creation of AMCC."
