Insolvent German glass jar manufacturer Weck may have a new owner.
The Aurelius Investment Group is planning to buy the parent company J. Weck, based in the German town of Wehr-Öfflingen (115 employees) and the subsidiary Weck Glaswerk (260 employees) with a production site in Bonn, according to a notice from the Federal Competition Authority.
J. Weck filed for bankruptcy in June. The company is famous for its glass jars decorated with a strawberry and the inscription 'Weck'.
Aurelius is expected to pay a double-digit million sum for the purchase of the company and for the trademark rights.
