The May 2022 issue focuses on furnaces, decarbonisation and Glassman Latin America.

This issue’s main focus is furnaces. At Wiegand-Glas, Horn optimises a fired furnace to have an energy demand below 3 GJ/t, a world first. FIC CEO Stuart Hakes outlines why he believes hydrogen use in furnaces is not the answer for decarbonisation, and Fives discusses how hybrid and full electric furnaces could substantially reduce CO₂ emissions.

Elsewhere, futronic celebrates its 50^th anniversary and friends reunite at our Glassman Latin America event in Monterrey, Mexico. Close the Glass Loop also celebrates its two-year anniversary while Thimon has been manufacturing packaging equipment since 1968.
