The opening of a new glassworks in Ujazd in central Poland has created some 300 jobs.

The factory, constructed by Euroglas, which is equipped with a modern flat glass production line measuring almost 1km, is worth a reported PLN 723 million.
The project involved the construction of what is thought to be the world’s largest furnace for melting glass, which is able to contain 1000 tons of glass and has a daily output of 1000 tons.
Euroglas was granted business activity permission to operate in Poland’s Lodz Special Economic Zone in 2008. The new glassworks is run in co-operation with a Polish partner – Press-Glass – which specialises in glazed units.
