Work has been completed on the construction of a new Pilkington Automotive glass manufacturing plant in Poland.
Armed with new technologies, Pilkington Automotive will now be able to double its capacity in Poland.
It is the second Pilkington factory in Poland, and will make glass for car manufacturers and glass products for trucks.
The Pilkington Automotive factory is now the most modern facility of its type in Poland, and is equipped with process lines for making windscreens, installing additional windscreen elements, truck glass manufacturing and glass encapsulation.
The investment has created a total of 1,100 jobs for local inhabitants.
Around PLN 500mln (approx. US$127,755,547) was invested in the new plant, with work starting on it in 2011.
The site is in the Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone Euro-Park, Wisłosan, and totals approx. 90,000sqm.
