Pharmaceutical glass packager Nipro will invest €45 million to build a second factory at its site in Aumale, France.

Nipro PharmaPackaging plans to inaugurate the new facility in 2022.

The company is a specialist in drawn glass tubes for pharmaceutical, paramedical and cosmetic use and is owned by Japanese corporation Nipro.

The project will include a new 25,000m2 building and the installation of three new furnaces, which will add to the five already on site.

The first oven will start in 2022, the second in 2023 and the third scheduled for 2030. The project will increase the number of staff at the site by 70 from its current 130.

The facility will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2021.
