NSG Pilkington UK to close architectural glass plant in St Helens, UK

NSG Pilkington UK is set to close its Alexandra Works plant in St Helens by the end of the 2021, affecting 90 jobs in the area.

It is reported that the company expects manufacturing will stop at the site by the end of December 2021.

The Alexandra Works plant manufactures architectural glass including glass doors, conservatories and rooflights for the construction industry.

It says the decision to close the site was made due to it being no longer profitable.
