O-I receives €2.1 million grant for MAGMA development

O-I has received a €2.1 million grant for the development of its MAGMA technology.

It’s Holzminden, Germany container glass manufacturing facility received the grant from the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economic affairs last week.

The company plans to build a new production building including a showroom as well as the acquisition of machines and systems. This will create an additional 28 new permanent jobs at the Holzminden site.

The Modular Advanced Glass Manufacturing Asset (MAGMA) technology is said to increase glass production flexibility as well as the environmental friendliness of glass.
