Owens Corning has announced plans to build a furnace to expand production at its glass reinforcement manufacturing plant at Tlaxcala in Mexico.
Construction of the furnace began at the end of March 2011, with operations scheduled to begin in early 2012. The expansion is thought to double production capacity at the plant, which produces corrosion-resistant glass and other products.
US-based Owens Corning is reportedly planning similar expansion projects at its facilities in Yuhang, China, Gous-Khroustalny, Russia and Besana, Italy.
