Pennine Industrial has launched its range of Skeleton Link conveyor chains for the glass industry.

The lightweight link is designed to reduce the energy requirement while the conveyor chain is in operation.

It also improves conveyor chain stability, which is important when handling unstable glass containers.

The design of the new link plates has resulted in increased contact area whilst minimising weight.

The product is available in both the single pin and the two pin Calibre chains in all of the ½ pitch assemble types.

Depending on the chain type in operation, customers can see a saving of up to 15% in weight.

In addition, depending on the glass container weight and size, this can result in up to 15% less power draw on the main drive motor of the conveyor.

This results in less energy being used, less load on the bearings, and less load and longer life for the wear plates.

An additional advantage of the Skeleton Link is the increased surface area.

Pennine’s two pin Calibre Skeleton link chains benefit from 5% larger surface contact area than non-Skeleton Link chains.

Single pin Pennine Skeleton link chains benefit from 10% larger surface contact area than non-Skeleton Link chains.

Pennine Industrial will also attend this year’s Glasstec at Hall 13, Stand C31.
