More than 90 delegates attended the annual Furnace Solutions conference on 14th June at CERAM, Stoke-on-Trent, UK.

A number of speakers presented papers on topics including: ‘The relevance of testing refractory materials for evaluating suitability of the product in glass applications’, ‘Chrome-Alumina-Refractories used in the glass industry’, and ‘Analysis of methods for energy recovery from glass furnace flue glasses.’

The day came to a close with the presentation of the ‘Michael Garvey Award’, which was given to Wolfgang Cieleback, Ardagh Glass Germany GmbH, (pictured) for his informative talk on ‘Experience with batch and cullet preheating systems’.
