UK glass recycling company Recresco starts 2024 with three contract wins for the reprocessing of collected glass bottles and containers.

The contracts will see Recresco’s Cwmbran facility, in Wales, receive approximately 100 tonnes and 25 tonnes of residential and commercial container glass per week from Pembrokeshire and Severn Waste Services respectively.

A further 100 tonnes from Bedford and 480 tonnes from Severn Waste Services will be reprocessed weekly at Recresco’s Ellesmere Port facility in the UK.

Fraser Macintyre, Recresco Business Development Manager, said: “These local contracts are not only crucial to our growth, but help us to continue our work with local communities to minimise waste and drive more glass into positive environmental outcomes.”

The contracts for both Bedford Borough Council and Severn Waste Services have been retained for 12 months following a tender process, while the contract with Pembrokeshire County Council will take place over an initial period of three months.

Recresco has been processing glass for over 40 years as a family run business and was acquired by bottle manufacturer BA Glass at the end of 2023.
