A report entitled ‘Glass Packaging: A Global Strategic Business Report’ (Source: Companiesandmarkets.com) has forecast the glass packaging market to exceed US$36 billion by 2015.
It states that glass continues to be desirable for high-end food and drink packaging, and that as environmental concerns over recycling of alternative packaging rise and disposable income in developing markets increases, the market is set for further growth.
The report adds that the global recession has severely dented a market already under pressure due to increased raw materials costs. As a result, it claims, the status quo is likely to continue in the short term, with predicted growth taking place after 2011.
