Saint-Gobain has signed a five-year renewable electricity supply agreement in Romania with OMV Petrom.
This contract covers the purchase of green electricity from wind and photovoltaic sources provided by energy supplier OMV Petrom and will start in January 2026.
OMV Petrom will provide around 800 GWh of green electricity for a period of five years.
This contract, combined with a photovoltaic park currently in the final stage of development at the Călărași glass plant, will cover 100% of Saint-Gobain’s electricity needs in Romania.
Saint-Gobain Romania has 14 industrial sites in the country, covering glass, insulation, plasterboard, and construction chemicals activities.
This contract is the second Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed by Saint-Gobain in Romania, which will help the group reduce its carbon footprint in the country.
