SFS has conducted a trial run with its new glass packaging furnace at its site in Paraćin, Serbia.
SFS conducted a test run production of packaging glass from the furnace on May 7, 2024.
The company said: “This accomplishment marks a pivotal moment not only for our company but also for the resurgence of the glass industry in Serbia and the broader Southeastern European region.
“With a commitment to excellence and a vision for the future, we have embarked on a journey to modernise our production facilities and establish cutting-edge technologies.”
It also emphasised its commitment to local production and supply.
The Vaider Group acquired SFS Paraćin in 2022 to strengthen its operations in Serbia and Southeastern Europe.
Ongoing investments include the establishment of a new greenfield factory, which the group said will expand production capacities and create employment opportunities in Paraćin.
SFS also expressed its thanks to the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Development Agency of Serbia for their support with the furnace, as well as the teams at SFS Paraćin and Steklarna Hrastnik.
