Sisecam Group Vice Chairman and CEO awarded medal

Sisecam Group Vice Chairman and CEO Professor Ahmet Kırman has been awarded the “Medal for Valorous Labour” for his contributions to the economic cooperation and the development of investments in Tatarstan, Russia.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov handed Prof. Kirman the award at a presidential ceremony in December.

Prof. Kırman stated that as the only global player active in all three-core business areas of glass industry, Şişecam Group has investments in flat glass, glassware and glass packaging across the Russian Federation.

He said: “Our Group has an annual production capacity of over 1.5 million tonnes in Russian Federation and total sum of our investments is over US $1.2 billion.

“Our Group has ultimately added the flat glass investments in the Republic of Tatarstan to its investments in Russian Federation including glass packaging and glassware.

“Currently, our total investments in Tatarstan amount to US $350 million along with additional and sustained investments."
