The Sorg Group will work together on Parglass’ greenfield glass facility in Paraguay.

The $75 million facility is set to open in the first quarter of 2026, and will produce glass from a 100% renewable electric source.

Its electrical energy will be supplied by hydropower.

EME will deliver an upgradeable batch plant and cullet return system.

Sorg will provide an all-electric Vertical Super Melter (VSM) and forehearth.

SKS will be responsible for the associated steel delivery and construction works.

The furnace capacity will be 160 to 200 tpd.

Construction will start by January 2025, with engineering plans already drafted and approved.

The project is a partnership between Parglass, Pavisa and a local cement and construction company.
