A company in America claims to have invented the world’s first square wine bottle.

Aside from the quirky design, it is hoped this will make transport easier, and will reduce the amount of cardboard needed for outside packaging.

The entire line of California Square wines, crafted by winemaker Virginia Marie Lambrix, consists of three wines: a Russian River Valley Chardonnay, Paso Robles Cabernet, and Paso Robles Three Red Blend.

The designers have stated that the bottles won’t roll away if placed on their sides, and can be repurposed as olive oil dispensers. The slogan is that they ‘don’t cut corners’.
