UK supplier Pennine Industrial has announced an expansion programme to meet increased demand for its range of inverted tooth conveyor chains and drive sprockets.

The company has installed new presses and inspection equipment at one of its UK facilities, to accommodate increased production of the components needed to build the conveyor chains, which are used by both hollow glass and tableware plants across the world.
A recently approved planning application will also allow Pennine Industrial to increase the final assembly part of its manufacturing by approximately 60%.
The Huddersfield-based company said that it prides itself on the fact that the millions of individual link plates and pins it uses on a weekly basis are manufactured in the UK and that all the raw materials can be traced back to European suppliers.
Sales Director of Pennine Industrial, Graham Womersley, confirmed that a number of new products are currently under development and that they would be available to the glass industry in late 2010 and early 2011.
