Glass process engineering and contract company Henry F Teichmann (HFT) has announced the signing of a contract with Shandong Jinjing Science & Technology Co of China for a 600 metric tons per day (mtpd) oxy-fuel float line.
The production line will be built in Beijing, China. It will be designed for advanced technology, premium quality products, environmentally friendliness (lowest waste gas emission in the industry) and low energy consumption.
It is the third premium float glass line HFT and PPG Industries, both based in the USA, have jointly built for Shandong Jinjing Science & Technology Co and the second oxy-fuel float line to be built in China by the two companies. In October 2009, HFT announced the signing of several turnkey float glass project contracts with AVIC (Hainan) Special Glass Materials Co of China, all of which were under licence to PPG?Industries.
The projects involved constructing a new 600 mtpd oxy-fuel float glass and chemical vapour deposition (CVD) low-E glass line, as well as restoring and upgrading two existing
float lines.
The new production line at Shandong Jinjing is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2011.
