The United Nations International Year of Glass (IYOG) officially begins Thursday morning.

The much-anticipated Opening Ceremony takes place at the UN’s Palace of Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and will be followed by a two-day celebration of glass.

On Thursday and Friday this week, a conference featuring talks from 30 industry experts will tackle topics such as the sustainability of glass as well as scientific and technological breakthroughs.
