TME Engineering has formed a subsidiary in Mexico: TME Glass Americas.

The French engineering group said the international expansion allows the hollow glass specialist to supply the American market.

TME said it offers equipment to glass manufacturers that maximises their industrial performance.

It creates and sells variable equipment, glass contact materials, process improvement machines, as well as mould accessories.

With TME Glass Americas, Mexican customers will get the same products as when they worked with the French company.

The DNA of TME remains innovation and the aim is to minimise process issues of the hollow glass industry in order to increase yields and productivity.

“In early 2018, one of our customers set up in Mexico and TME followed, discovering the Mexican market through business trips and participating in local exhibitions.

“We very much appreciated the warm welcome from local customers and a full study of the market convinced us of promising development opportunities", said Raphaël Malvezin.

Longtime colleagues

The two founders are longtime colleagues: Raphaël, TME Engineering’s executive, and Louis-Henri, the director of TME Glass Americas.

They met ten years ago during an optimisation project for their employer, a hollow glass producer, and immediately connected. Their profile and complementarity in work led to this collaboration.

Louis-Henri’s drive to start his own business, his knowledge of the hollow glass sector, and his abilities in Spanish made him the perfect manager for TME Glass Americas.

The adventure is a multilevel challenge: a new partnership, entrepreneurship, and exploration of a new market… It is a dive into the unknown. Louis-Henri and Raphaël are up for the challenge and confident in their ability to serve the American market.

TME is ready to serve this growing market and the increasing quality needs of tequila bottles.

The two partners were impressed by the giant glass plants they visited. They have plenty of ideas to increase yields: TME wants to push forward technology, to develop new solutions and customised responses to their clients’ issues.

TME will adapt its products to the needs of local companies and offers service advantage thanks to its proximity.

TME Glass Americas will be located in Guadalajara, in the State of Jalisco.
